University of Vienna staff can now complete the "OER-Practitioner" training free of charge and become certified experts in Open Educational Practices (1 ECTS, including workshop on-site, asynchronous MOOC participation, publication of 3 OER). Upon completion, participants receive the official OER certificate. Currently there are 224 certified OER-Practitioners in the Austrian Higher Education Sector and 26 certifications for Higher Education Institutions.
This training supports the University’s OER policy, adopted in summer 2024, and strengthens our path toward becoming an OER-certified higher education institution. University of Vienna has already fulfilled the first two key criteria:
- A public commitment to OER and a dedicated training offer (OER policy)
- Access to an OER repository (PHAIDRA, connected to the OERhub)
