Setting up u:stream camera

Open the u_stream application on the lecture hall PC desktop.


Select the menu item Camera controls and log in with your u:account for employees


Set the position of the u:stream camera. The selected image section is then available in the video conference tool.

Use the arrow keys and the +/- keys to fine-tune the image, or use the TILT, ZOOM, PAN sliders to roughly change the view. 


Or select one of the predefined camera profiles:


If required, you can also define an individual camera profile that is only available to you in the room in question. To do this, click on the plus symbol to the right of the predefined camera profiles.


Starting a video conference

Open the video conference on the lecture hall PC. 

For meetings in Moodle, go to moodle.univie.ac.at and open the video conference meeting in Big Blue Button or Zoom (both tools are supported). 

Meetings with Zoom can also be accessed directly via univienna.zoom.us. The Zoom client is installed on the lecture hall PC if required.


Selecting sources

Now select the sources for the video conference:

Tip: Select High Definition under Quality.

If you are asked for permission, allow access to the microphone and camera.

Holding a video conference

  • If you want to share your presentation/screen in the conference, share it directly in the video conference tool.
  • If you want to change the camera position during the meeting, use the u:stream camera control again. This is only available on the lecture hall PC.

Ending the video conference

End the video conference.

Log out of u:stream, the video conference and, if necessary, the Zoom app.

Finally, close the browser.
