Cause:
Updates / MS Office and /or operating system updates where running in the background and changed important system settings while doing this.
Solution:
Reboot / just reboot your MacBook or other Apple device.
After the reboot, be sure to give the system the time to successfully reconfigure its settings.
When you get pop messages, that PowerPoint, Word, etc. are doing something, do not interrupt these processes.
