The main focus of her scientific work is the online edition of sources related to the Danube trade in early modern times. Apart from history of trade Mrs. Serles’ research interests cover the history of public finance and infrastructure as well as town and regional history. Since January 2025, she is the co-editor of the volumes on the 16th and 17th centuries in the series "History of Lower Austria”.

At the University of Vienna, Raman oversees the creation and operation of systems to preserve data from research and education long-term. Alongside this, he has contributed to various local and international projects, aiming to enhance research data infrastructure.
