 The File material allows you to make individual files of any file format available in your Moodle course.

  • Option 1: Drag the file from your computer to the file input insert field with the left mouse button pressed.

  • Option 2: Click the Add icon in the upper left corner above the file input insert field.

Then click Upload a file in the left column and use Durchsuchen to select the file from your computer. Finally, click the Upload this file button at the bottom.

Warnung

You can upload more than one file in the Select files field, but only one file will be displayed for students, and it will be the one defined as the main file.

In the Appearance section, you can specify where the file is opened if it is a file type that can be opened in the browser, and what additional information (file size, file type, and upload date) should be displayed. The additional information is displayed next to the file name on the main page of the course if you tick the Display resource description option in the appearance settings.

After you have included a file in the course, you can open and edit the settings form again at any time.

  1. To do this, first activate edit mode via the Edit mode switch in the top right corner of Moodle.
  2. Then select Edit Settings settings from the file's Edit edit menu (three dots).


Delete file

If you want to delete a file completely from the course, proceed as follows:

  1. Access the file's settings form as described above.
  2. Click on the file in the Select file area.
  3. A window will open where you will find, among others, the Delete button at the top.





  4. Afterwards you still have to confirm the deletion process by means of the via OK button.
  5. You can now upload a new file.
