Zoom AI Companion helps you make meetings, webinars, and recordings more efficient. The AI can answer questions, summarize content, and enrich recordings with useful overviews. You can activate the individual functions in the Zoom web portal https://univienna.zoom.us/ under Settings.
Functions
Ask questions during meetings and webinars
During ongoing sessions, both hosts and invited participants can ask questions directly to the AI Companion. The answers are based on the automatically generated transcript and are therefore closely related to the actual course of the conversation.
Automatic summaries
At the end of a meeting or webinar, the AI Companion can generate a brief summary on request. It summarizes the key messages and most important discussion points, making follow-up much easier. These summaries are automatically sent by email to the meeting host, where they can be edited and then specifically approved for release. Please note that stored content is automatically deleted after 365 days.
Intelligent recordings
When meetings are recorded in the cloud, you can benefit from advanced AI features. In addition to traditional recordings, you can access automatically generated highlights of the most important points. The AI Companion also creates a chapter overview for better orientation, a short summary, and a list of possible next steps. Here, too, transcripts and summaries are available and are also subject to the 365-day deletion period.
Whiteboard support
The AI Companion can also be useful when working on Zoom whiteboards. It helps generate new ideas, structure texts, and refine wording. This makes brainstorming and collaborative work processes much more efficient.
Important notes
The AI Companion only uses data that is available in the respective context - for example, the meeting transcript, webinar chat, or shared content. Other Zoom services such as team chat, mail, calendar, or documents are disabled at the University of Vienna. All content generated by the AI is intended as suggestions. Therefore, please always check it for accuracy before using it.
