Follow the official upgrade instructions from the Shibboleth wiki, to be re-visited for each upgrade of the IDP software.

This includes (among other things):

• Making sure If you're already on IDPv4. Otherwise update to latest IDPv3 and remove still running an earlier, unsupported major version of the software you'll need to update to the latest IDPv4 release and get rid of all deprecation warnings first!
• Checking the Release Notes
• Following our Shibboleth IDPv4 our installation documentation again and , installing the new IDPv4 IDPv5 release over your current one (or a copy thereof on a new, current OS).
