The ACOnet Identity Federation currently defines two main services (called Technical Profiles in the Policy):

| eduID.at allows providers of content and services (such as databases, journals or research and collaboration tools) to grant users from other organizations access to their web-based resources – without having to locally manage usernames and associated passwords. eduID.at is based on SAML2 and the saml2int deployment profile. | eduroam allows users of participating institutions to access the wireless network at other participating organizations using their home institution's credentials. All this with a minimal adminstrative overhead. Depending on local policies at the visited institutions, eduroam participants may also have additional resources at their disposal.
